Welcome back to part 2 of Isaiah 9:6-7
This week we will work on memorizing verse 7. There is a lot of material here, so hang on tight!
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
The verse continues on the theme of verse 6 referring to Jesus as having the responsibility and the fulfillment of all government. He will reclaim the throne of David, and rule forever. The best part of the verse is that there will be no end to His peace and his rule. The end of the verse tells us that, the zeal of God himself will make this happen. This means that God Himself is committed to Jesus’ authority and rule. God promises that this son who was born in a manger, this child that was given to us will be King of Kings and Lord of Lords… forever.
