WOW verse 13 already!!! Next week we finish off this great passage.
This week’s verse is widely misinterpreted. Many have taken this verse to be a promise that Jesus will answer all of our prayers. This causes confusion and doubt when this does not occur. To properly interpret this verse, one must look at the context of the passage. Jesus is telling his disciples that He is going to the Father, that He is in the Father, and that He does what the Father wills. This is followed by verse 13 which says if you ask for anything in my name I will do it that the Father may be glorified. The purpose of the asking and the answering must be the glory of the Father.
Please follow along with us this week as we memorize this important verse.
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
I hope that this podcast is helpful to you as we work together to hide God’s word in our hearts.
